In “Drug Use and Abuse Worldwide,” the author says “Tobacco
continues to be the substance causing the maximum health damage
globally.” In China, more and more teenagers are smokers even though
they know smoking is bad. I think the Chinese government should make
laws, teenagers can’t buy cigarette. Because smoking is really bad
for the teenagers’ bodies, the people around the smokers will be
second-hand smokers, and smoking spends a lot of money.
First, smoking is really harmful for the teenagers’ bodies.
Teenagers need many nutrients to grow. In fact, the cigarettes can
damage the body’s nutrients. For example, smoking can stop the bodies
absorption of vitamin C, there is the possibility of scurvy. Also,
cigarettes can be directly toxic. I heart through animal test some
surprising results, such as, if someone injected the horse with eight
drops of nicotine, it will soon die. So cigarettes are really harmful
for teenagers.
Second, the people around the smokers will be second-hand
smokers. That is to say, even you don’t smoke, as long as you are near
a smoker, your health will be affected as well. In fact, be a second-
hand smoker is worse than be a smoker. Maybe the other people around smokers will start smoking even though they know smoking is bad. But
teenagers always think smoking is very cool.
Finally, smoking spends a lot of money. Cigarettes are
expensive. In China, smokers spend thousands million dollars buying
cigarettes every year. I’m a smoker. I know this. Every week I spend
about 100 dollars buying cigarettes. That’s not a big number. If I
don’t smoke for one year, I can save 5,000 dollars. I can buy a second-
hand car!

Smoking is really harmful. But it’s really hard to quit. So I
think the Chinese government should make laws, can’t buy cigarettes.
Because is really harmful for the teenagers’ bodies, the people around
the smokers will be second-hand smokers, smoking spends a lot of money.
So, the teenagers, never try it.
