Weblog Assignment #5

I visited the infoplease web site. In this site, the table indicates a Gender wage gap in certain occupations and is expressed as a percentage divided by percent women and earnings ratio. It shows that women have smaller percentage in some jobs with estimated earning of above $34,000. It also says that women typically hold lower-paying jobs and work in traditional female occupations such as register nurses, teachers and social workers.

It is a very interesting data that female bus drivers are almost half of workers. There are a few female bus drivers in Korea. Women are gradually more common in jobs that are held by men than they were. Status of women in our society is also getting higher than past years. However, we would know that occupations in which the majority of workers are women are fixed to some jobs. Therefore, I think that a range of jobs for women is still narrow. This site includes lots of knowledge you need. If you are interested in this site, you will find it

The Slow Lane web site is the online resource for stay-at-home dads. The site is a comprehensive collection of resources including helping support, advocate, and inform dads. You can also find many references dealing with issues of fathering, family, and being a stay-at-home dad. There is more information like how to start a play group and how to connect with others and links to other dad related sites.

Being a stay-at-home dad is not easy in our society since males are pushed toward having an employed job and making money. I think this kind of site is very helpful to SAHD and provides their community. It is also an important way to solve a problem of single dads that they could talk about their feeling and difficulties to each other. If you want to go to the site,

All of them are written for staying at home dads including local and international dad orfanizations, single dads, new dads, and divorced dads. So men's are understanding their wives.

    Weblog assignment #3

According to this web site http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/4785824.stm it states that It is a paradox that women achieve an overall better educational level than men but get the oppsite reflection of job level. For example, Eighty percent of women complete secondary education compared to 75% of men, more than fifty percent of university students are women, but only women have a third of managerial jobs from the chart. After that, they give some measures to solve this problem: First, setting up gender equality in Europe. Moreover, reviewing all existing EU gender equality laws and increasing awareness of gender inequality, In addition, ensuring that gender equalitly has be cinsidered in all the jobs.

In my opinion, it is true that it is easier for men to find jobs than women. Because in our education it is a stereotype that men usually lead the class in school, so now, for most of men it is easier to find the managerail job than women. Even though that women's school scores are higher than men's scores, but the idea that men should lead all companies is inside all of people's hearts. Afer the survey that it is a paradox women have fewer job chances than men evern if their educational level is not less than men. Therefore, the gender institute give some measures to ensure that gender equality can be considered in all policies.

I visited the Schwarzenegger photo gallery. There are 340 pictures of Schwarzenegger, who is an actor. If you can click home, page would return to main page. Name of this website is A.S.I.F.C. It means Arnold Schwarzenegger Italian Fan Club. So the article is written in Italy. In most pictures, he is naked to the waist and smiles sweetly.

In my opinion, Schwarzenegger emphasizes the man. Cetainly, his figure has attracted a lot of women. It influences a major impact on the other men. Many guys try to build up their bodies like him to be popular with girls. People consider muscle to be one arm for men. These pictures may cause a gender gap.

I saw Barbie website. You know, this site is presented for girls, and there are a lot of dress-up dolls who are beautiful princesses. Girls can change dolls’ dresses. Moreover, they can choose the color, theme, and shape of dresses or clothes that they want. They can also buy these dolls and their clothes by the internet order. They seem to be spending lots of time in this site.

In my opinion, feminists are likely to criticize this site, because they maybe think that it gives girls bad influences. I mean, girls who saw this site may think that beauty is good and I want to be beautiful like these dolls. These thoughts are easy to connect to the typical gender socialization in which beautiful women are more likely to be admired. But these opinions are the viewpoint of feminists, so in general, this site gives girls a lot of fun.

I visited this web site. It is written about how EU's gender gap is still wide open in this article. There are a lot of women who go to university in EU. However, their salary is lower than that of men, and they can't get the same pay as men. Also, even if women reach better educational levels than men, it is difficult for them to get a good job. Moreover, in this article you can see some bar graphs of each country which are about gender pay gap, share of female managers and part time workers. They are useful in knowing which country has more gender gap.

    My opinion
This site is interesting for me because I didn't know much about EU’s gender gap in business. In Japan, also women can’t get the same opportunity as men in business. Furthermore, women are lower position than men. These are common problems between EU and Japan. Therefore, we have to struggle with this problem to get equal situation in business.

    human nature

I looked at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_beings . The article describes how human beings are different from other animals. Humans have developed brains, language and reasoning. The article talks about how the bodies of humans are different from other animals. For example, humans have different limbs for moving things so that they can use tools more than other animals.

In my opinion it is good article to read so that people can know about human nature. First, the human brain is a complex organ to become developed because intellect distinguishes humans from the animals, also have self – expression and the exchange of ideas which means human are social in the case. Finally, humans have a lot of phenomena and do well in their life so that humans can be interested in music, religion and something like that. In conclusion, in my opinion, it is a good article about being human.

    Weblog Assignment #3

This web site is ‘The White House Project- encourages women to run for office.’.
The tittle of the site is THE WHITE HOUSE PROJECT. In addition, The White House writes this site about advancing women’s leadership and encouraging women to run for office. Geena Davis, who plays America’s first female president on the ABC drama Commander In Chief, starts the project whose name is Go Run Training for women.
This is the first time to start and 4 Go Run trainings are offered across America. We can apply to the training at this site.

    My Opinion

Geena Davis promotes the project, at the same time she is a very famous woman president in the drama, and she is very effective person to women in the US. So, this project may be success. This is the big project, because it is the first trial by the white house. In addition, the project is proved the women’s ability to run for office as a president of it. therefore, I think the project is very effective and able to encourage to women’s mind.

I saw this article. The article on the web site states that many European women are still in cruel circumstances for their work despite the fact that they do better in school than men. From this article, we can get the information about present circumstances of gender roles for their work, and know about some different treatment between male and female. There are mainly three kinds of information with some of the statistics. According to the first statistics, Latvia has the highest proportion of women managers. the Second statistics show that Cyprus has the highest gender pay gap. The third statistics show the average of one third of women who are part-time workers.

    My opinion

There is a similar problem in Japan. I wonder that despite the fact that a lot of women have better education in school than men, this is not reflected on entry to the labor market, and if they get jobs, their wages are less than men's wages. However, as this article says, I think this matter is getting better gradually. One of the reasons is that gender institution deeply thinks about it. Also in some countries, many women clamor against their government policy, because of lower pay. Therefore, I think this matter will be improved in the future.

I visit this web site. This mentions discussing the learning process called socialization. There are contents in the beginning of this article. The contents are mainly separated into two parts; socialization for social agents (humans) and socialization for non-humans (animal species). Also this article has a definition of the word "socialization". According to this article, socialization means "the process by which human beings or animals learn to adopt the behavior patterns of the community in which they live".

    My opinion

There are contents in the beginning of this article. I think this is a nice notice to attract people. It is easy to understand what the article is describing. And also I was surprised when I knew that animals have socialization even feral animals. From the explanation of this article, I think all creatures have socialization like humans. However socialization is not always good thing. It sometimes causes gender socialization because of reinforcing gender roles.
Therefore I think we need to have democratic (equal) socialization to decrease discrimination between boys and girls.

I saw here (GrimmFairyTales) this site. In this site, we can not only read the Grimm's fairy tales and their hisory but also play some games. And this site is produced for children, so there are many characters or movies which make them fun. In history's page, we see that Brothers Grimm wrote over 200 stories, but in this site, we can read only some famous stories; Brementown Musicians, Peter rabbit, and so on. When we become tired from reading stories, we can divert ourselves by playing some games.

I think this site is very fun for all generations, from children to elderly people, because we can read easily without getting bored and can also study about Brothers Gurimm or the Gtimm's fairy tale. I tried to read Brementown Musicians, which I have read in my childhood, so I remembered how it was. Most of all characters are a little scary. But in my opinion, the Grimm's fairy tales have been said to have contained some cruel scenes, so scary characters are better. Different from most Japanese web sites, this site is fashioned in characters.

For example, what kind of problem happens at school and is the problem different for man and woman?

    My opinion

I read this site and felt that crime was very near. I thought that I must not forget about crime. If I could remake this site, I would use a graph. Besides, a lot of things expressing thedifference between man and woman are written in this site. Therefore I will use a circle graph. I think we have to consider how to avoid crime.

    Web Assignment #2

I visited grimmfairytales.this web-site has interesting fairy tales for children. This web-site is composed of different stories and games with cute characters; a cartoons, animated tall tales and so on. Also, children can easily understand the fairy tales through various cartoons and pictures. So, through net safety of this web-site, children can learn how to use correctly their computer. This web-site gives many sources for teaching their children such as kid stuff, coloring practice, and leaping match with detailed explanation.

I think that this web-site is very available not only to children but also adults. These days, parents have no time in which to read a children’s story to their children. This web-site brings about children's curiosity in fairy tales that is designed with various colors. Through this web-site, it has merit like parents reading their book. However, I think children just do their computer all day. Consequently, the web-sites has to add auto-off timer to this web-site watch out for children's toxicities.

We can read and listen to fairy tales in English, so it helps us to improve English reading and listening skills. Also, this web site is so interesting because there are a lot of programs which we can enjoy. When we want to play games, we can enjoy games in this site. This site is used for children, so there are a lot of characters. But those characters are not cute but weird. In my country, children prefer cute characters to weird characters. I think the taste is different between America and Japan.

I saw the site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialization. this is mentioned about discussing the learning process called socialization. There are contents in the beginning of this article. The contents is mainly separated two parts; socialization for social agents (humans) and socialization for non-human (animal species). Also this article has a definition of the word "socialization". According to this article, socialization means the process by which human beings or animals learn to adopt the behavior patterns of the community in which they live.

    My opinion

There are contents in the beginning of this article. I think this is a nice notice to attract people. It is easy to understand what the article is describing. And also I was surprised when I knew that animals have socialization even feral animals. From the explanation of this article, I think all of creature have socialization like humans. However socialization is not always good thing. It sometimes causes gender socialization because of reinforcing gender roles.
Therefore I think we need to democratic (equal) socialization to decrease discrimination between boys and girls.

I looked at here. This page is about Aesop's fables. University of Massachusetts Amherst's professor, Copper Frances Giloth, made this website. These stories which were written by Aesop are arranged in alphabetical order. It's easy to find a story you want to read. In addition, most stories have two versions. Some stories use animation. The main characters in Aesop's fables are mostly animals, especially fox and wolf.

In my opinion, I think many people are interested in animations of stories. There is advice at end of each story. For example, the writer admonishes that kindness affects more than severity in the The Wind and The Sun. In The Ant and The Grasshopper, there is advice that it is best to prepare for the days of necessity. Readers can draw the moral from these stories. So Aesop's fables are very good for children.

Accorrding to the the site http://interact.uoregon.edu/Medialit/mlr/readings/contents/violence.html.I konw here is discusses aboout the topic that what media, TV, and internet impact on children. The most important that influence children is TV. However TV sometime plays an adventage role on children, but most of time TV plays a negative role on children, like violence! For example, in the prime time children will see more than 8000 muders on TV before they finish elementary school! On the other hand, they usually can't disdinguish between gratitude violence and necessary violence. These problems are very serious when a child grows up!And this site well show you how serious TV impact children in these year.

In my opinion,I think parents should company with their children when they watch TV.Actually, according to survey, TV has three prime harmful influences on children: 1.Learning aggressive attitudes and behaviors. 2.Becoming desensitized to real world violence. 3.Developing a fear of being victimized by violence .If parents don't teach ''violence''this word, children will don't know the deeply mean about this word forever. For example, children will don't know what the different between good guys and bad guys! They are all kill and assault each other!Because good guys kill bad guys, and bad guys assault good guys. So,I think only if parents can company with their chrildren when they watch TV can let TV plays best role on children!!

Boys violence is more than girls. I think it is influence about tv program because much program has a action like violence. And actor is more than actress in violence tv program. So i think young guys have to protect from tv. The cause violence is Media. And problem to their's parents. Parents have t0 choose good media because children following them. So parent's part is important.
