Weblog Assignment #3

AE2-B
RYO

I saw this article. The article on the web site states that many European women are still in cruel circumstances for their work despite the fact that they do better in school than men. From this article, we can get the information about present circumstances of gender roles for their work, and know about some different treatment between male and female. There are mainly three kinds of information with some of the statistics. According to the first statistics, Latvia has the highest proportion of women managers. the Second statistics show that Cyprus has the highest gender pay gap. The third statistics show the average of one third of women who are part-time workers.

My opinion

There is a similar problem in Japan. I wonder that despite the fact that a lot of women have better education in school than men, this is not reflected on entry to the labor market, and if they get jobs, their wages are less than men's wages. However, as this article says, I think this matter is getting better gradually. One of the reasons is that gender institution deeply thinks about it. Also in some countries, many women clamor against their government policy, because of lower pay. Therefore, I think this matter will be improved in the future.
