Controlling crime
In the video, a robber wants money from a convenience store. He said “ Give the
money” from service worker. But he don`t have to money. The worker don`t have to
confused. He`s opposed to for robber and hit of high kick for robber. The robber is fall
down on the parking nuts. Nowadays every store has crime. So we need to more courage.
It`s internal controls.

What is the crime ?
Why is the criminal not successful ?
What controls deter you from committing this crime ?
In this video, the crime is stealing money from supermarket.
The thief wasn’t successful because he didn’t plan for the attraction will happen from the security, and for what time he will need. He took a lot of time in this process, and when he try to escape, he fell up on the ground. The worker, who is working in the store ( supermarket ), used his cell-phone to register this process in it.
There are many controls to deter someone from committing this crime. One of these is putting a security in the entrance to this store. Second, putting a big camera to take a picture for everyone. Finally, this store must display sign like “ This store prosecutes shoplifters to the full extent of the law.”

What control deter you from committing this crime
Controlling Crime.
In this video about the robbery. The young man tried to steal money from convenience store. However, he didn’t. Because the managers didn’t allowanced his acting. So he escape form store. But that time the manager to kick on his back. I think this is internal controlling.

Controlling Crimes by Kanae
1. What is the crime?
It is a liquor store robbery in 21st, Nov, 2005। A man who had a knife tried to rob money. He threatened the manager, saying, “give me money.” The manager was scared, but he attacked the robber, and the robber escaped from the store.
2. Why is the crime not successful?
The crime is not successful because the manager, Edward Patrossi, is smart। He jumped up on the counter, grabbed something, and gave him a high kick. After the robber escaped, the manager took pictures of the robber’s car license by his mobile phone. He said, “I was nice, polite, and did my best.” And because the robber didn't go over the store. If he have known that the clerk is smsrt and strong, He might not attack the store.
3. What control deter you from committing this crime?
Internal control deters me. A belief that the robbery is wrong discourage me from doing it.

1, What is crime?
The crime is a robber. He entered into a convenience store, and tried to rob much money.
2, Why is the criminal not successful?
Because a worker fought the robber. The robber ran away from him, but he went after the robber. So, the robber at entrance door kicked him. But, he took a picture of the car’s number so, the robber’s this plan was not successful.
3, What controls deter YOU from committing this crime?
I think this case works external control.
But, in my case, I think internal control deter me from committing a crime. Because, I think criminal is bad behavior and I should not commit a crime. For me, it is common sense of human.

Controllimg Crime
1 what is the crime in the video?
This is robbery. He entered the shop and tried to take money from a shop.
2 Why is the criminal not successful?
In the video, a man stood in front of register showing a long knife to a manager, but a manager said “What are you doing?” with strong emotion. A manager grabbed something and showed him attack emotion. Then he was shocked and he went back to the entrance. A manager kicked him and tried to take him out side. That was strong action. A manager took a cell phone and took number of a car with camera. That is why he didn’t successes this crime.
3 What controls (external or internal) deter YOU from committing this crime?
As for me, internal control does.
Because I have already have image of crime that crime is not good and wrong.
I think it comes from my beliefs and fears. I want what I want every time when I go shopping, however that belif dater from me.

Controlling Crime Minami
1, What is the crime?
That crime is a lobber who tried to steal money from a shop.
2. Why is the criminal not successful?
Because the manager was very brave and powerful to prevent the lobber from stealing money. And he took a picture of the car’s number plate, it helped to identify the lobber.
3. What control deter you from committing this crime?
In the video, a man was deterred by external controls.
In other words, he feared to be caught by the owner.
But in my case, inernal contorol is more strong, because I want to live in peace with reaiable frendships and get good jods.So I am detered from committing crimes.

Controlling Crime
1.- It’s about robbery in a liquor store and assault with a deadly weapon .
2.- Because the suspect or person who robs the store doesn't know about the control the situation. The suspect doesn’t take nothing money, he has a big knive and said it's a assault give me the money and said I’m serious, after the suspect go ran out side the store.
Its obvious the criminal doesn't professional and scary the people.
3.- I think the controls are internal because he doesn't feel with confidence what does this crime . Maybe he feel fear of being arrested.

CONTROLLING CRIME BY FAHAD
QUESTIONS:
1- WHAT IS THE CRIME?
2- WHY IS THE CRIMINAL NOT SUCCESSFUL?
3- WHAT CONTROLS DETER YOU FROM COMMITTING THIS CRIME?
ANSWERS:
1- It’s a mini market robbery.
2- Because he didn’t know that the man who works at the store has a black belt in six marshals arts, so he defend himself by using this arts, and the robber didn’t expect that the seller will react that way so he escaped through the door then the seller followed him and gave him a kick that lay him on the ground, then the robber started to run and he followed him and took a picture of the car plate number which helped the police to arrest him.
3- It’s the internal controls that deter me from doing that which has four factors. The First it’s a forbidden and bad thing to do and will me make me feel bad about myself. The Second if my family and friends find out about it, they will disapprove it. The Third is the fear of being arrested or imprisoned. Finally social force such as being fired from my job, losing the trust of my colleagues, and not being able to get a good job because it will be on my records.

My favorite TV program
There are alot of TV programs that I like in my life. There is one TV program I have been watching since I was young. The name of this program is Diamond, and it's a kind of game. In the begin they start with 7 players. The point for this game is to see who has more skill and to see who is faster. There are alot of rooms. Inside each room a different game. When the player goes inside the room, he just has 5 minutes to get the Diamond. When I watch this program i really enjoy it Specially when I am with my friend because we have to guess who is going to win in the end.

My favorite TV program!!!
HI! I am Patrick. This is my first time to write a personal blog, I want to talk about my favorite TV program. My favorite program is ESPN. It talks about any kinds of sports and including sports news, games, and players in the world. Many Americans like sports, such as baseball, basketball, and football. These are very popular sports in America. People care about which team won the game yesterday, and which player did very well.
I like to watch sports games, especially baseball and basketball. In Taiwan, many people care about the MLB player who comes from Taiwan, like Yankees Changming Wang, and Dodgers Hungzi Kuo. Because both these pitchers are very popular in Taiwan, we like to watch them play games. The other sport I like is basketball, especially the NBA. If I have time, I want to go the Unite Center to watch the Chicago Bulls games.
These sports are my favorite ! So this is why I like to watch ESPN. So if you have time, you should watch it and enjoy the games. I hope you will like it!
You can here for more information.

POLYGAMY
I have accessed http://www.hop.com/biglove This site belongs to HBO TV station. It contains several links like the one that shows the programs presented at the screen. Big Love is one the programs that is presented now, and is talking about the polygamy. In addition, there is a link that talks about the big love show. Also there are some interviews with some actors who work for big love show.
Polygamy is when you have more than one wife at the same time. There are many views about polygamy around the world. In my opinion religions are behind these differences. However, some religions like ISLAM allowed polygamy for many reasons. On the other hand, it has many difficult conditions to ensure the interactions and rights of all parties, particularly justice, equality, food, clothing, expense and mercy. At the time many societies denied it. As a result, prohibited and illegal sexual relationships became acceptable. Therefore these societies often have illegitimate children or foundlings more then the societies that accept it.

DRINKING
I have visited http://www.ias.org.uk It is about drinking and it talks about What the factors are that may make a person accept drinking; also they found that there was a direct link between the causes of adolescent males and females drink and their relationship with their parents. Also, some research showed that there are various things that led peopl to drink such as social and psychological factorsa s well as peers.
Now drinking is widespread among youth groups, and it must be a serious issue. Most of the young people are unaware of the seriousness of this issue. Therefore, I think it is the duty of governments and parents Inordr to help young people from this risk.

Amish
In the begining, I visited the website http://www.amish.net and it's a very interesting website, because I saw several pictures of Amish. In that section for search about anything Amish, like gift shops, Amish information center, food and Amish tours. They have stuff for sale, like food, dolls, and farms. They are a lot of things to learn about the Amish's life. The wedsite has a huge amount of information about how the Amish can live or how they can get the food and other stuff like that. Amish life es so amusing they show us when they came first and where they live how they work. That is so interesting.
In my opinion, I like this website, because it shows us how important are the Amish. And I like the way in the website; it seems so easy to find anything about them. They have a lot of information about them. And the website gives the history about the Amish. For me I like this website because I learn amazing information about the Amish.

Gay Married
In the begining, I visited this website www.gaymarriage.com and it was interesting becouse it's unusual and i see some pictures of gay. There are alot of options in this website like you can see gay weddings, gay friends vendors, and you can choose any thing you want to know about, like gays for dating, or workplace div ersity. This can help gays who wants to find a partner, becouse there is a lot of information about it. and the website talk about many thing like how to find a gay friend for marriage or for fun by using the internet.
My opinionfirt of all i am at adds with this situation becouse i dont want more people to be gay today. That thing
will not be able to help regular people find partners easily to get marriage. Now the gays have increased every year, so it's really bad. I think any website like this can not be good for people, because now the underage can inter in this website and the can see disgusting things, so the children can be troublein in his porsonality. And, gays break the rules in the life.

Amish
I visited the Web site http://www.amishcenter.com/discover.shtml#3 In that page you can find information about the Amish life (history, meals, houses, clothing and different options to plan a trip to their farm). The Amish are a group of people who were born in Switzerland and believe in the Christian Scripture, but they decided to have strict rules to live. For example, it is important to live with submission, obedience, humilty, conformity, and simplicity. The strive to be reserved, modest, calm, and quiet in their farm space.
I agree with their desicion about their lives, because that style of the life is following their religion. I think that each person free to decide and can be critical to know if a situation is or is not healthy for him/herself. However, I think that all religions believe in the same God and the same scripture, but the difference is how they interpret that information, and the way to follow that.

Unmarried
I visited the Web site http://unmarried.org/statistics.html .The director of this page is Lisa Nicolle Grist with another goup of people. This page shows how the couples can live together without getting married or before that. The most important condition for the relationship is that they want to live in the same place and share their lives with the other person. However, it is important that society know or accept this situation about the couples, because in these times it is usually an alternative to marriage. On this site you can find information about unmarried people, statistics, publications, politics, legal situations and how to contact them.
I agree with cohabitation, because it is the best way to know your partner. Living together both can discover his/her positive and negative sides, know what things they like or dislike, and share his/her true feelings. Another reason to choose this way is for his/her financial situation. If the couple decides to get married, they will spend a lot of money celebrating the ceremony. As a result, living together is cheaper for both. Then, being unmarried permits the couple to decide if they are willing to have kids and if they can, whether the parents feel comfortable, are happy and safe or not. Finally, I think that love is love, married or living together before that, the most important detail is the couple wants to share his/her whole lives for a long time.

Live without marriage
I chose this link www.unmarried.org/statistics, which was created by some people. The purpose of this group is to work together to support cohabitation for some people who live together without marriage. In addition, they have many couples live without marriage, and couples who live with marriage. For example, many people in the United States of America today agree with relationship without marriage. They believe that cohabitation is better than being married. They are also doing this to help people to choose, who is the best for marriage.
In my opinion, I disagree with this team, because many religions don't accept that. In addition, there are many problems to do for in doing this relationship. For example, when one of the women gets a child, how will they know whose child this is, and also how can the women trust those guys if they get children. Maybe the men will run away also from the women, because they don't want to take care of their children. They also encourage people to live without marriage. I think this is a bad way to live together. Lastly, this relationship is unsuccessful for life.

Drinking problems
I choose this website www.madd.org/tuhijo/en_act_friends.htm . Which was created by a group of people. They worked together to help people how we can help our children from peer pressure. Most of the people who created the website are Doctors of medicine. And also, it has much information about how young people start drinking with peer pressure. In addition, it has many links to discuss that.
In my opinion, I like this website because it supports the people for how we can keep our kids from drink. On the other hand, I am interested in this website. For example, when I am looking for the best information about advantages or disadvantages for the drinks, I found much about that. I got an advantage from this website like how I can work with my friends to be careful. Also, it gives us make advances about the drinks. I agree with this website, because the most of the people who created that are Professors, Doctors and researchers.

Food Taboos
I read about food taboos. http://library.thinkquest.org/18802/everfood.htm. It’s talks about some kind of food taboos; for example, 1.Some food taboos are obvious-like something have poisonous. 2. Some food taboos are self-enforced-like vegetarians. 3.Food taboos can be based on religious beliefs 4.and some food taboos are based on traditions, customs and perceptions of the society, and sometimes also on the appearance of the food. And other thing is it explains what is a delicacy and introduces two specialties from China and Norway.
I knew all food taboos in this website, so I wasn’t interested in this part; it make me feel interested in specialty. Because it introduces a creature from Norway, this creature is a fish steeped in lye, and has a distinctive taste and smell and also looks rather strange.
So, it let me know a new strange creature in the world. But some Norwegians eat it and some Norwegians do not. It’s the same situation in Taiwan; some people eat snake and insects but some people do not, I don’t eat it either. Finally the world has many kind of food taboos.

Amish
http://www.amishcenter.com/index.shtml This is a web site I read. This web site is like a museum and talks about Amish. They introduce everything about Amish, like their lifestyle, history and school. And an important thing is they introduce a trip to go to visit Amish country and go to have an experience about Amish, like eat their meal and do their work. The web site also offers products about Amish, like Amish Doll and some different kind of book of Amish, but you cannot order online; you need to call a number to order. Finally, they also have a page to introduce how to join and support their member!
When I read this web site I am so interested in it because it explained Amish lifestyle and have some picture about Amish. So it let me feel interested. And this web site introduced their trip about Amish country, where you can go to eat what Amish eat, go to see Amish house and do their work. It’s a good trip. It can let us know knowledge of Amish. So, I think if maybe one day I will go to Amish country with my friends!

Virginia attack
I surfed to the site whose address iswww.slate.com. This site is talking about Virginia Tech syudent Cho Seung-Hui, especcially the guns that he used when he attacked. There is a question, 'How could he hace killed so many peolpe with just a couple of guns?'. They found the answer with his guns. And this site explains a lot of information about the guns.
When I saw this site is article, I was surprised; he killed 32 people during just 10~15minutes. I had a question: how could a person kill 32 people in such a short time, even if his guns were particularly powerful and dangerous?

I visited this website that talks about violent video games blamed for Virginia Tech. This website gives us information about video games that are not violent. Also, they said the Virginia Tech incident was not related to violent video games. The gunman did not play violent video games in his life. Also, this website told us the gunman was suffering from mental illness, and he was angry about his girlfriend. So, violent video games were not a problem to the gunman who did that.
In my opinion, I take issue with that because violent video games are an important factor to killing, hitting, or doing anything wrong. For example, when any child plays violent video games every day and one day s/he is angry from something, s/he will do whatever s/he plays or watches; maybe s/he will kill or do something wrong. Now, the violent video games are rampant in the world and these games will make many crimes. On the other hand I am on the same wavelength with this website for when someone kill or does something wrong, maybe s/he did not play violent video games. For example, the gunman did what he did in Virginia Tech, and he did not play violent video games in his life.

I visited this website that talks about a television show about polygamy. Someone has three wives and three children. They live in separate houses and take turns sharing their husband every night. Also, he makes injustice with his wives and children. In addition, they keep their arrangement a secret. However, they are happy in their life and comfortable every day.
In my opinion, I agree with him about polygamy. Also, that will help many women because the world has more women than men. That means some women cannot have marriage. I think every women needs a husband, to live her life, and love. My religion and my country allow marriage to four wives, the maximum, because when they marry four wives, the world won't have women without marriage. But if you want to marry two, three, or four you MUST have justice with your wives.
Best regard,

I went to a site which is called madd.org. This website talks about peer pressure. A peer is a friend or acquaintance in the same age group. This website shares much information about peer pressure. It talks about peer pressure’s types and peer pressure’s influence. This website shares some advice to help the children deal with peer pressure. In this website also you can find some related topics which talk about peer pressure, for example cultural pressure.
In my opinion this website shares much good information about peer pressure. It talks about one of the important subject in society. Peer pressure has a big influence on its members. Peer pressure’s influence might be negative or positive, but I think it is more likely to be negative, because the peer pressure’s members usually want to do abnormal things which make them different from the other people. The children I think are more likely to be involve in the peer pressure’s influence very quickly and they usually have many problems with it.

I went to website which is called www.jstor.org. This site talks about Anna. Anna is a girl of more than five years old. She was incarcerated in an upstairs room. She was unable to do what other humans can do; for example, she was unable to talk, walk and many other simple things. In this website you can find much information about Anna’s life. It shares the whole of Anna story.
In my opinion, this website is very important. It shows how learning and connecting with people, especially the parents, are very important, by sharing Anna’s story. You can imagine Anna’s story in our life; if we do not connect with each other and do not learn from each other;that means we will not able to do anything in our life. We can learn from this story that the parents are the most important teacher in our life. Anna’s story well make people think about their life and they will learn many things from this story.

Death Penalty
Many people have a different idea about the death penalty. Some people are for the death penalty, while others are against it. I agree with the people who are for the death penalty because the death penalty is a good way to provent the people from committing crime. It can be effect the murder when they think about the death penalty. So the death penalty is very important to reduce the crime specially the murders who need serious punishment.

The Death Penalty
The death penalty ,or capital punishment is one of the sentences to prevent people from committing crime. However, Some people believe the death penalty is a correct way to reduce the amount of crime and stop people from committing murder. For example, in some countries that apply this kind of rule, the number of homicides has declined because the execution of converted murder should scare potential killers, discourage them from killing, and satisfy the emotions of people who are very angry against the crime. I agree that the death penalty is the right way to deter murder. When someone just thinks before trying to kill someone that it will lead to hanging or another death penalty.

Death Penalty
Death penalty is best way to deter people from committing murder. There are many reasons which support death penalty to be a good way to stop them from committing murder. When the governments execute the death penalty people will be frightened then they will not commit murder. For example, if someone knows he will be killed if he kills another one, he really will not do the crime. In addition, victims' families get justice when the government executes the murderer. Death penalty also helps victims' families emotionally. Death penalty really is a good way and I support countries that execute it.

Who is Cash? by Husam
Johnny Cash songs sung from 1955; he was born in 1937 in Dyess, Arkansas. He loved to read a book, hear a song on the radio, go fishing, and love his life. He lived in many different places, in the United States; also, one thing is still in his memories, which he'll never forget, his bigger brother. When was 17 years old he was a singer in the Army in Germany. After two years he got married with his first wife; her name was Vivian Cash. He started to take capsules of drugs from 1956 until 1968. He divorced his wife in 1966, and had three girls. He loved a black color because people called their group "man in black", and they made two movies; one of them is called Man in Black. He never sang in the party from 1965 to 1968 to get away from drugs. He loves classical music and had his second marriage on the stage with “June Carter” he was the best and most popular singer of classic country music and did a good business in his life; he died in 2003. We can visit his web log at this website.
In my opinion
The drugs are bad things for anybody to try to get; that is because, after he uses them, life is over with his wife, kids, friend, a special business, and his name in the world. But because he was a good man he was helpful, and tried to do his best steps in life. He makes a new range of music for people, and respected them. Finally, I like Johnny Cash.

What is the dangerous city?
I went to this website. I found the most dangerous location in the world . It has many cities there where killing people is very easy and the guns are every where, for example, Sao Paulo, Congo, Rwanda, Uganda, Israel and North Korea. On the left side, a group of links talks about places for travel in these countries. Are there a lot of places that are examples of this?
Any way, I think this website is very interesting because it shows me a lot of countries. Every one in the world likes to visit. When I visit these links I can know what happens in this city and who visited.

The most Wanted List
I went to this website and it talk about ten people who did acrime and they are wanted by the world. The website shows picthres of these people, like Usama Bin Laden, Tames J.Bulger,...etc so when you click to each person the website gives you inrormation about this person, his Date of Birth, Hair, place of birth, and all the description. Moreover, hte website gives you information about what this person did. At the end the website put areward for the people who know any information about this criminal or know where this criminal lives.
My opinion:
This is the best way in my opinion to find this criminal, because some people like areward so he will tell the truth to have this money and this picture and information will help the people to take care from this people. Actually I think the picture in the website is anold picture, so they shuld find anew picture, because maybe they will change their face, so be careful of guys from these people and tell the FBI if you know any thing, to have agood life

When polic investigated this case, thay discovered tha ways it was done was like the way five cases ago. Killed Jesse James
FAISAL AE2
I went to website that talked about how what Jesse James did and about how he was killed. He robbed the banks for about 15 years and he has experience robbing the banks. He has four brothers help him to robbe and he is popular in Missouri because he broke the law. Do you know how he was killed? The government said to the people who will catch him or bring him to us, we will give him money.SO, someone was excited to take money. that was the Ford brother. So he killed Jesse and brought him to the government. What do you think the government did to him? They said to, him did you kill him. He said, yes i did, and then the government put him in jail. Do you know why? Because all the residents of Missouri liked Jesse .
In my opinion, I like him because he is smart, brave, and famous. I am interested in how most of the people in his city like him. I think he usually gave the people something from he stole. Also, i think the person who brought Jesse to the government is not smart because he delivered Jesse to Missouri government and most of the people who lived in Missouri like him. Finally, i like the events that were when the person brought Jesse to the government.

MY OPINION
The story was very interesting, because he became a rich man

but actually he is very a smart man and he has confidence in
himself. Right now all people know him as a man who broke the law.

Jesse James
HUSSAIN...
I went to link Jesse James website. And I will talk about him. He was born in Kearney, Mussouri. He did a lot of crimes in this state exactly because .he killed many people, but nevertheless the people like him because he was against the government and bank. He liked rob bank, he always robbed the bank, and police couldn’t keep him, because he was invisible. He was stealing free 200 years ago. He robbed 6,000$ from the bank, and he killed many policemen, he met the Ford brother, and he said to his brother shall we go to robe a bank, he had experience about that. The people helped police to know who is robbed bank, 15 years he robbed the bank around Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas City. He had some friends, only his friends they are knew where James was, he stayed home and his friends helped him. Finally, the government said to the people, if any person finds, James, the government will give him $10,000. Mussouri liked Jesse James, and someone who killed James and brought him to the Mussouri government, but this person didn't get $10,000, he was charged with murder.
Jesse James had more crime in his life, he robbed bank, killed people, and was against government. I think this is too much crime, 15 years of robbing bank, but in spite of that the people lifes him in Mussouri. He is smart and brave, because had friends help him and save him, he was a leader. I like this story, it's an interesting story.

Phishing ( by Yiming )
"Phishing " is a new kind of crime in which ID thieves trick people into providing their Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, PIN number, mother's maiden names, and other personal information by pretending to be someone they are not. The website gave us a lot of information and advice about "Phishing". There are several ways to protect consumers from getting in trouble. We should watch out for "phishy" emails; we'd better just only open email attachments if we're expecting them and know what they contain. Beside situations about email, we shouldn't click on links that ask for personal informaiton, and do the same for pop-up screens, protect our computer with spam filters, anti-virus and anti-spyware software, and a firewall, and keep them updated reqularty.
"Phishing" has become common in a few years; it has been given attention because os the serious density of informaiton, and the injury caused to many people. We should know more that "phishing" happens not only on the Internet, but exists also in our daytime lives. Phishing can also happen by phone; seeking jobs requires that we be careful; in addition, if someone contacts us and says we've been victim of fraud, werify the person's identify before provide personal informaiton. It sounds horrible, but it's true, the thieves are around us preparing to trick us. I've had a similar case that happened last year. When I searched for a video, a pop-up screen that said:" Congratulations!" you have won $50,000. Please type your name and your account number in order to get the money. Fortunately, I felt strange, because I've never done anything about the money, so I'm not fooled; now we know it is sign that something is "phishy".

Johnny Cash

I visited the Johnny Cash site. It talks about a very famous singer, “Johnny Cash”. On this site you can find many things about him. You can find news about him, biography, audio, videos, photo, downloads of his music, forum/chat, and links. You can also learn about Johnny Cash’s history and life. This site has a very interesting thing, you can buy charts printed with his name and his picture.
In my opinion, this site is very interesting because you can find much information about Johnny Cash. Johnny Cash had special life. Many people like him. He went to prison many time, but he didn’t stay in prison a long time because he didn’t do dangerous crime. I think he is helpful because he thinks about people in prison, sings songs for them, and tries to give them good feeling.

visited the site which has much information about Carbondale in the Dailly Egyptian. I read on that site a story about two men who were suspected of burglarizing five separate businesses in Carbondale and they were arrested by the police when they robbed a store. When the police investigated with other crimes the police found they did it.
In my opinion, this kind of criminal is very dangerous, because they have experience doing crime; they did many crimes and the police didn’t arrest them. I think they should get high punishment, because this high punishment could make them afraid from doing crime again.

Andre's assignment #5 - Death Penalty
The web site “The Death Penalty Worldwide”, part of “Infoplease: fill the knowledge you need” displays several countries classified according to the permission or not of the death penalty. They can be classified as Death Penalty Outlawed for ordinary crimes before it was outlawed in all cases; the earlier date is given; Death Penalty Outlawed for Ordinary Crimes- It’s allowed only for exceptional crimes, such as crimes committed under military law or in wartime; De Facto Ban on Death Penalty- It’s allowed by law but has not been the practice for ten or more years; and places where the Death Penalty is Permitted. The web site tells us about some statistics according to Amnesty International. During 2005 at least 2,148 people were executed in 22 countries, 94% in China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and the United States alone. More than 5,186 people were sentenced to death in 53 countries. More than 20,000 prisoners are on death row across the world.
This web site is really interesting; I spent more than an hour looking at many interesting things. You can also know a lot of statistics about American prisons, death row, men freed, and many really interesting things. When you go to this website you can do a rapid analysis of the situation of the countries and their following categories. For example, it’s very easy to see that the only 3 developed countries where the death penalty is permitted are Japan, the USA, and China, while all the other industrialized countries have already banned capital punishment. Also, if you want to kill someone out of your country, you should visit this web site to avoid surprises.

Alcatraz Live Cam
AE2-A

I went to an Alcatraz Live Cam site. This site shows us many things about Alcatraz prison. First of all, you can see around Alcatraz prison by live camera. Camera can’t show us apparent scene. And you can also see Alcatraz’s pictures: Alcatraz map, Guard lookout tower, cell, oldest lighthouse on the west coast, and something like that. Because the prison is in San Francisco Bay, you can know about San Francisco Bay’s weather. And you can also buy a ferry ticket for the trip. And you can know about the Alcatraz’s history and story from this site.
This site looks like a travel site because there are many advertisements for travelers. To show which is around Alcatraz prison by camera is likely to not inform us about Alcatraz prison in detail, but will attract many travelers. Anyway, you can see many pictures about that. This place is famous for the background of the movie “The Rock”. This prison is called like this: the Rock, prison’s prison, and Devil’s island. It shows this prison is such a brutal prison for prisoners. Nobody could escape from there. I can understand the mind of the prisoner who had watched out of the window the beautiful beach and city sadly.

Avoiding getting hooked by "phishing"
AE2-A

I went to Avoid getting hooked by phishing. What is "phishing"? As you can see the image of phishing from the picture above, phishing is a new scheme stealing other people's information illegally. This site teaches 12 tips that can make you avoid phishing. the know-how is useful for us who are living with computers. There are many ways to protect your information from phisher. Watch out for phishy emails! Never enter your personal information in a pop-up screen! Protect your computer with spam filters, anti-virus and anti-spyware software, and a firewall, and keep them up to date! Be suspicious if someone contacts you unexpectedly and asks for your personal informatiom! Like this, many ways from this site can help you avoid this crime.
I didn't know the word "phishing", so I tried to find the definition of phishing by using my dictionary. But I couldn't find it, so I was interested in this word. After reading the article, I could know about phishing. We should be careful of being hooked by phishers when we use computer. We should know the tips of avoiding phishing because someone who we don't know may take our important information. If you don't, you may lose your important information, your money, your fame, or even your job. And even now, the phishers are watching out for you as prey.

Death Penalty
AE2-B
Mia
I am opposed to the capital punishment system. According to the textbook, capital punishment doesn't relate to the homicide rate. Murder is a crime of passion, because they can not think calmly about the punishment and cannot stop committing crime because of outrage. So, I think capital punishment is not meaning. In addition, the executioner receives mental damage, because everybody knows life is most important for us. If death penalty does not deter murder, we should abolish it and try to rehabilitate the criminals. So, punishment of long imprisonment is better than capital punishment. In conclusion, the death penalty is useless to stop homicides and it is an unnecessary thing. So, we should abolish it!

Approval of the death penalty
AE2B
Marc
Most people approve death penalty for several reasons from different viewpoints. In victims’ opinion, they want to get revenge and punish criminals, so they will agree with it. By the point of society cost, if we do not approve the death penalty, the cost will increase because prisons spend lots of tax money every year. Some people think the death penalty can help the government to show their authority. For some people who always commit crimes, the death penalty can give them a warning not to do serious crimes. In conclusion, the death penalty can decrease many of society is problems

Capital Punishment : An Eye for an Eye????
AE2 SUPERMAN - Muwoong
Capital punishment has to disappear in the world. It is never effictive to execute a brutal criminal to prevent a dreadful crime.
First, the capital punishment is a second murder committed by the nation's authority. The death penalty violates human rights. Many criminals were executed without enough evidence. After the execution was performed by the government, the truth was often revealed.
Next, Most serious crimes(such as murder) are caused by the organizational contradiction of our society and a criminals' extreme rage. In other word; the fundamental cause of crime is never the individual or his/her responsibility. Most brutal criminals have grown up in a low socioeconomic environment without an appropriate family and community's supports. If we want a more fundamental solution to deter a dreadful crime, we have to consider structual contradiction and social reform.
In conclusion, Capital punishment is never the best method to prevent a dreadful crime. To solve dreadful crimes in our society, we must seek more fundamental solutions.

Should we abolish the death penalty?
AE2B
Hsin-Yen
The existence of the death penalty is necessary. The death penalty is effective in deterring people from committing crimes. Most people dread the ending of life. If a person who wants to commit crimes thinks about the acceptance of punishment, maybe he will desist from doing bad things. If people don’t have internal controls, the external controls are necessary to help them control themselves. The death penalty is one way to give the victims and their family comfort. The victims and their family surely feel sad and are angry with the criminals. It is not fair to the victims if the criminals are not punished. The existence of the death penalty can help to keep the peace of society and protect its citizens, so we should not abolish it.

Weblog Assignment #5
This one has three parts.
1. Make your own weblog entry- choose an article or site of your choice, related to crime, prisons, or something that we talked about. If you can't find one, pick one from below (#1-4) that you have not done, and do that. If you have doubt about whether the subject is appropriate, ask. Make a standard weblog entry- tell where you went, what it looks like, how you feel about it.
2. Comments- make comments on your classmates' weblog entries. These should be questions. If your classmates ask you questions, you do not necessarily have to answer them. Make sure your comments are on weblog entries, and in your own class, where your own teacher will find them.
3. Put something on the AE2 weblog. Choose two of your weblog entries and move them over. To do this, remember to Sign out, and use the cesl login: ceslstudents@yahoo.com. Also, copy/paste is good for the weblog entry, but you'll need a title, and you'll also need to sign it, once again so that your teacher will find it & give you credit. With this, you are giving them to CESL. They may or may not end up in the newsletter. If you don't want them to, say something. But do the assignment anyway.

Weblog Assignment #1
Visit any of the sites below. Your job is to describe the site in one paragraph. You can tell what it looks like, what it shows us, who made it, or what it's for. Do this in 5-7 sentences. DO NOT COPY. Your paragraph will link to the site, so remember which one you went to and identify it clearly.
Then, tell us what you think. This should be in another paragraph. You can tell us your opinion of the site, what it says, or what it does, or, you can tell us what you think about the subject. You can say that it is interesting or different (this is an opinion) but tell us why. Use 5-7 sentences for this also.
Write it on paper FIRST (to use for speaking, and to get grammar corrected). THEN you will put it on your weblog, and everyone can read it! Good luck!
